Background One of the most rewarding SaaS projects I have worked on is Almenu.io. At the end of 2020, I had the privilege of developing the platform from scratch. Almenu.io serves as a digital menu builder and ordering system tailored for restaurants and coffee shops.

Role and Responsibilities As the lead backend developer, I was responsible for designing the project’s architecture and implementing its core functionalities. My primary focus was on backend development using Laravel, although my role extended to bridging backend and frontend functionalities to deliver a seamless user experience.

Key features I developed include:

Live Menu Builder and Preview: Allowing restaurant owners to customize menus in real time.

Statistics and Insights: Enabling businesses to track performance and make data-driven decisions.

Email Listings: Facilitating customer outreach and engagement.

Menu Item Sorting: Providing tools to organize menu items for better usability.

Challenges and Solutions Developing a platform that could cater to the specific needs of the food and beverage industry required understanding the nuances of user requirements. For example, creating a live menu builder meant designing a system capable of instant updates without compromising performance. Similarly, implementing subscription plans involved ensuring secure and reliable payment processing.
