For this Framer project, I designed and implemented a fully custom, CMS-driven filtering component to handle complex event data and advanced logic beyond Framer’s default capabilities.
The component was built with the following filtering features:
Calendar Filter: Dynamically filters events based on the “Visible” date field.
Area Filter: Filters events using a Multi-Reference field connected to the Area CMS collection.
Categories Filter: Filters events using a Multi-Reference field linked to the Event-category CMS collection.
In addition to filtering logic, special attention was given to component flexibility and default behavior:
The component is reusable and deployable across multiple sub-pages (e.g., ÅKP, Blue Maritime Cluster).
On sub-pages dedicated to a specific Area, the component automatically defaults to that area.
In these cases, only the Calendar Filter and Categories Filter are shown to keep the UI clean and context-aware.
My role covered:
Custom code development for advanced filtering logic
CMS integrations using multi-reference relationships
Smart default states based on page context
Clean, scalable component structure
Seamless collaboration and quick iterations with the client
The final result was a robust, reusable Framer component that adapts intelligently across pages while maintaining performance, clarity, and a smooth user experience.
