"This is a DOG" — AI-Directed Comedy Poster

A spec poster designed as an exercise in AI-directed design using Ideogram 4.

The concept is built on comedic hierarchy: the phrase "This is a DOG" dominates the composition, with the dog positioned directly in front of the G to visually reinforce the word it belongs to. The punchline lands in the afterthought "...and a cat," underselling the cat's presence with deliberate unenthusiasm from the speaker.

Every element was directed by hand: I dictated exact placement, sizing, and positioning of each component to Ideogram 4, treating the AI as a production tool rather than a creative autopilot. The result takes advantage of Ideogram 4's detail, clarity, and dynamic light range. Final touchup work (minor corrections and light level adjustments) was done in Affinity.
