Edith Mwiti
This significant project involved collaborating with an esteemed organization (The UNFPA-UNICEF Joint Programme) dedicated to providing comprehensive support for survivors of rape, sexual assault, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), and early and forced marriages. As part of this dedicated team, I played an integral role in offering both immediate and long-term assistance to survivors.
The deliverables included creating sensitive and informative content aimed at raising awareness and educating the public about these critical issues. This entailed crafting compelling articles, detailed reports, and impactful social media campaigns that highlighted the experiences of survivors and the resources available to them. Additionally, I developed educational materials for workshops and training sessions aimed at empowering both survivors and advocacy groups.
My role extended beyond content creation; I was actively involved in coordinating with local authorities and healthcare facilities to ensure survivors received the justice and medical care they needed. We organized counseling sessions, set up emergency helplines, and facilitated access to safe shelters. By building a network of support that included legal advisors, healthcare professionals, and crisis counselors, we strived to create a comprehensive safety net for those affected by these traumatic experiences.
