Sunnyside Film Studio Visual Identity and Website

Create a unique visual identity and website, integrating aspects of cinema and south asian culture while keeping the style modern and timeless.

The objective of a film studio in their design is simple to showcase their work, so we thought how do we do that while keeping in mind the charm and appeal of powerful filmmaking. Our client also wanted us to create a timeless visual language incorporating south asian elements into the design. To blend the old and the new keeping everything easy to engage with and letting the work of the studio shine.

So we ended up making a cinema, a selectable ticketing system that lets you browse through the work as if in a theatre. We incorporated south asian elements from an old book about Hyderabad architecture and modelled the ticket design after old Pakistani and Indian cinema tickets.

The work developed into creating a logo and icon system that drew its inspiration from the motifs and carvings of old Hyderabad. The logo kept a playful spin on the name "Sunnyside" creating an egg shape with interesting hand made typography

The result a unique visual language that not only asks the audience to view the work, but engage with it.
