While working for the United Way my rules included:
• Conferring with the Executive Director to formulate public communications strategies that would result in the United Way having a continuous presence and profile in the community
• Providing staff support to the Communications Committee
• Developing all campaign advertising
• Preparing an annual external communication plan with strategies and defined outcomes
• Planning public information sessions including media releases and media conferences by working with all media
• Updating, maintaining and monitoring the website and social media tools to ensure they were attracting and connecting with a growing audience
