Street Signs - The Spirit of Ringön

64 likes, 10 comments - bethdesign_studio on September 20, 2024: “STREET SIGNS - THE SPIRIT OF RINGÖN For one of my favorite masters projects, I was inspired by Sam Portillo’s ”Street Signs” on Behance and wanted to create my own version. A big thanks to @likben for collaborating with me for each others projects —she built the sign poles and used pillows to display the digital artwork. To create the street signs, I took photos of graffiti work, stickers, actual road signs, and other street markings in Ringön, Gothenburg area, then edited them in Photoshop to bring the design to life. Street signs are important cultural expressions and art forms. The constant interaction between people and street signs in Ringön is an important aspect of our everyday lives, which is not paid enough attention. The inclusion of art makes a difference, art is made here - if introduced conscientiously and with care, they can create positive values for the people of Ringön district. Art has a key role to play if we are to create public spaces of long-term quality, and so it is important that artistic input is incorporated into social development processes at an early stage. When society evolves quickly, it is important to ensure that the Ringön can be both preserved and developed by supporting business that already exist on the island and adding new creative activities on vacant areas. A holistic approach to Ringon. also includes the management, maintenance and care of existing buildings. The new can find its place next to the old, only then will it be an interesting and genuine mix unlike any other city district and not like other industrial areas.
