This was fun digital marketing project I oversaw from concept to delivery whilst working as a marketing assistant at DUAL. I got to combine my background as a chef, my passion for design and my project management and collaboration skills, creating something I was truly proud of.
The initial idea was to create a seasonal corporate gift that could be shared inside and outside of the organization, incorporating recipes from previous internal marketing newsletters. It was also an opportunity to highlight names and cultures from around the business and the wider group, creating a sense of community.
During the course of the project, I overcame several obstacles including limited resource allocation, elongated timelines and stakeholder management with teams in different countries and time zones.
The most time consuming part of the project was sourcing high-quality images that reflected the actual recipe and arranging them to make them the most visually pleasing as possible.
Nov - Dec 22
To kick off the project, I designed a concept from scratch that would match the brand style, be appropriate for a corporate setting and appeal to the wide demographic (20s to 70s) inside and outside the company. I also included an 'about the dish' section to give a more personalized yet educational feel - also a great conversation starter.
Front cover
Initially, I wanted to use black to match the inside of the book, giving it a sleek restaurant theme. Needing some inspiration, I submitted a request to the external design team to create a first draft. I felt the visual hierarchy could be improved, so I redesigned the cover and kept iterating until I was happy with the final version.
Overall I'm really happy with how the project went, especially hearing all the positive feedback from stakeholders. In future, I'd love to see the cookbook become a yearly edition, if possible featuring recipes from all new DUAL employees, both temp and perm and become a physical printed book!
