Decathlon Spec: One Leap, Seven Sports (Previs to Final)

DOOM AI

DOOM AI

The brief

A self-initiated spec for Decathlon: one athlete, one continuous leap through seven sports, in a single 74-second vertical spot built for Reels and TikTok.

The challenge

AI video is great at single beautiful shots and bad at continuity. A sports spot lives or dies on matching action, consistent camera direction and a hero who looks like the same person from the track to the pool to the street.

The approach: direct it like a live-action shoot

1. Previs. 23 shots blocked out in Blender: camera height, lens, timing and screen direction locked before any generation.
2. Look development. Style frames to fix wardrobe, palette and lighting for each sport.
3. Generation. Each previs shot used as the structural reference for the AI video pass, so the motion follows the plan instead of improvising.
4. Edit and finish. Cut, speed ramps, sound design and grade in Premiere Pro.

Previs vs. final

Stadium: the previs sets camera height and the hero's position on the lane; the final keeps both.

Pool: lane layout, light direction and mood are decided in the blockout.

City ride: a rough bike-and-street blockout sets the motion path for the night sequence.

The result

A 74-second vertical spot with one consistent hero and continuous motion across seven sports environments. It reads like a live-action commercial, not an AI demo, because every shot was planned before a single credit was spent.

Why previs-first matters for brands

You approve the blockout, not a gamble. Camera, timing and framing are signed off on the previs, so the generation follows a plan you already agreed on: fewer surprises, fewer revision rounds, and a final that cuts together like a real shoot.

A 74s AI sports spot directed like a live-action shoot: a 23-shot Blender previs locked every shot first, so one hero stays consistent across seven sports.
