As a heavy notion user myself, I like to sync things and make everything automatic, the only thing I couldn't sync correctly was my Apple Health Data ( and god knows I needed it haha ) and so the idea of Health2Notion came in mind, a simple app the syncs all my health data into a notion database, so that i can have everything centralized and actually see that i'm gaining way too much weight !

I developedHealth2NotionusingReact Nativeas the framework, even though it's meant for iOS only. My experience with React Native and TypeScript made it the easiest and most efficient choice. Here’s a breakdown of the tech stack:

React Native – For cross-platform UI flexibility (even though this version is iOS-specific).

TypeScript – For better code maintainability and type safety.

HealthKit API – To fetch Apple Health data securely.

Notion API – To push the health data into custom Notion databases.

Expo & Expo Modules – To simplify development and integration with native modules.

Health2Notion allows you to sync:✅Steps & Activity– Track your daily movement effortlessly. ✅Heart Rate– Log your heart rate trends over time. ✅Sleep Analysis– See how well (or poorly) you’ve been sleeping. ✅Weight & BMI– Monitor your weight changes in Notion. ✅Custom Health Metrics– Select which metrics you want to sync.The app runs in the background, periodically syncing your latest health stats to Notion without any manual input.

One of the biggest challenges in building this app was handlingApple Health permissionscorrectly while ensuring smooth background syncing. The Notion API also has limitations in terms of rate limits and structure, so I had to create a robust way to map health data into aclean and readable Notion format.
