The Challenge: First and foremost, when a 3D designer encounters a product like this, they immediately turn to programs such as Marvelous Designer or Clo3D because these are specifically designed for working with fabric simulations. Since, in essence, the product is just a simple flat surface, I wasn’t an exception and tried to fold it in the same way as in the client’s references using Marvelous Designer. And… unfortunately, I failed. When working with a product that, in real life, measures 20'x20', and you need to fold it multiple times, Marvelous Designer turned into a headache for me. Constant issues with collisions and sticking vertices. In the end, I decided to model everything manually without using cloth simulations.
