BRIEF

Si Buta dari Gua Hantu is a legendary Indonesian action comic with iconic characters and a distinctive visual world. The experiment asks how motion can expand atmosphere and action without turning the material into conventional full animation or losing the rhythm of the original panels.

APPROACH

The direction focuses first on the environment. Fog, light, shadow, wind, debris, and background movement are introduced subtly, while character motion is reserved for moments that need emphasis. Motion remains a supporting layer — adding depth and presence while preserving the comic’s graphic language.

IP PRESERVATION

Linework, panel composition, contrast, colour accents, and character silhouettes were treated as fixed identity markers. AI was used to extend the existing visual language, not redesign it.

MOTION SYSTEM

The pilot combines environmental motion, restrained character micro-movement, graphic action accents, and editorial transitions. This creates momentum while allowing the viewer to continue reading each image as a comic panel.

SCENE & FRAME BREAKDOWN

FRAME 01 — Action held inside the illustration

The hero’s staff attack gains energy through light, particles, and directional emphasis while the original drawn pose remains the anchor.

FRAME 02 — Atmosphere gives the cave depth

Suspended debris, dust, and vertical cave light create spatial depth around a panel that still reads as illustration.

FRAME 03 — Impact without full-frame animation

Graphic motion arcs, flying debris, and a restrained red accent sharpen the violence without replacing the comic composition.

FRAME 04 — Graphic light as transition language

A vertical burst of ink-like light transforms a static portrait into a dramatic transition while preserving the hand-drawn face.

FRAME 05 — Stillness carries emotional weight

The monochrome rescue panel relies on small shifts in atmosphere and framing, letting the human moment remain stronger than the effect.

FRAME 06 — The iconic reveal remains intact

Warm embers and restrained cloth movement support the blindfold reveal without competing with the character silhouette.
