Follow Artists UX Copy

As part of my community building project at TicketSwap, I conceptualised and implemented a follow artist feature within the desktop and mobile apps.

The problem.

It’s hard to keep up with when favourite artists are performing and when tickets are on sale, causing fans to miss out. TicketSwap is a secondary ticketing platform to discover live events and to buy and resell tickets safely and securely.

To solve this problem, artist pages were created within the platform which allow fans to follow their favourite artists, and get notified when they're performing close by and when tickets are being sold. TicketSwap has the opportunity to focus on the event discovery part of the platform while being Fan Fanatical - TicketSwap's main core value. Listing and showcasing artists' events and linking their social platforms in one single place, makes keeping up with artists and discovering new artists and events easier for fans.

Enabling fans to browse and follow artists and then get notified when tickets are available for the event the artist is performing at

Educates fans that TicketSwap is not only a marketplace to buy and sell tickets but also a discovery platform

Builds a foundation for scalable content that enables artist discovery and features to engage the community

Collaborated with designers and product managers to articulate goals and align on key messages Competitor analysis.

Resident Advisor, an online music community platform dedicated to electronic music, and Songkick, a platform to find concerts are the primary methods for fans to discover artists and events. Along with popular social media and streaming platforms.

Songkick and Resident Advisor list events that are going to happen and notify the user but there is no integration to safely buy tickets there and then.

Social media doesn’t allow easy event searches or safe ticket purchases.

For this project, we decided to focus on 2 features: browsing and following artists. This will help to connect TicketSwap even more with the fans. The aim is to enable users to:

Search for specific artists quickly

Suggest events that match their tastes and similar artists

Notify the user when an artist is performing and buy tickets directly on the platform

How to integrate a discovery experience within an existing ticketing marketplace with a powerful search tool?
