Before making any big decisions, we carried out a full audit of the brand’s existing affiliate partner program. We approached this tactically so we could set our sights on long-term success, not just quick wins.
To begin with, we looked to expand the affiliate mix, recruiting key affiliates and publishers relevant to the client and the sector.
Our aim was was to increase the presence of the brand in all online mediums.
Our Approach
Consolidating networks & fees
Our first move was to migrate from Impact to ShareaSale, which created a more streamlined approach and enabled us to take advantage of our partner status with one of the leading affiliate networks. During the migration, we renegotiated all existing network contracts to reduce the override paid, and established network SLAs to be followed going forward. We also reduced network fees by 70%.
Content is king
With a focus on the brand’s upper-funnel partners, we developed a targeted content publisher strategy, recruiting key publishers to ensure the brand was being seen by their target audience. This included integrating with digital shopping platforms, online fashion publications and various smaller blogs to drive continued brand awareness and develop strong touch points throughout the consumer journey.
We also needed to ensure key product launches and collections were promoted at the right time – and by the right affiliates and influencers. This required in-depth knowledge of the channel and the different types of publisher, and attention to detail when hand-selecting the affiliates chosen to take part in launches. The objectives posed us an exciting challenge, and one we were more than ready to take on!
To begin with, we looked to expand the affiliate mix, recruiting key affiliates and publishers relevant to the client and the beauty sector.
Upon launch, we gifted key affiliates, which allowed us to either re-engage publishers with the brand or recruit new publishers to the program. The gifts included newly-launched lines, as well as core hero products.
