Title: The Last Goodbye
Opening shot: A young woman, Sarah, stands at the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean. She looks down at the water far below.
Act 1:Sarah is struggling to come to terms with the loss of her mother, who died of cancer six months ago. She feels lost and disconnected from the world around her. Her boyfriend, Jake, tries to be supportive, but he doesn't understand the depth of her grief.
Act 2:One day, Sarah decides to take a trip to the beach where she and her mother used to go when she was a child. She remembers how happy they were together, and she feels a sense of peace wash over her.
As she's sitting on the beach, she meets an elderly woman, Ruth, who has also recently lost her husband. They strike up a conversation, and Sarah learns that Ruth is planning to end her own life because she can't bear to live without her husband.
Act 3:Sarah realizes that she's not the only one who's lost someone she loves. She talks to Ruth about her own grief and shares stories about her mother. Together, they watch the sunset and say their goodbyes to their loved ones.
Closing shot: Sarah stands at the edge of the cliff once again, looking out at the ocean. She feels a sense of peace and closure, knowing that her mother will always be with her.
This script has a clear storyline with well-developed characters and a strong emotional arc. It deals with themes of grief, loss, and finding closure, which are universal themes that many people can relate to. With the right cast and crew, this script could make an excellent short film that could resonate with audiences and win awards at film festivals.
