Remarkable Stories

RS is a fascinating and popular podcast series. It was among the top 10% most shared shows on Spotify in 2022 and in the top 10% of podcast downloads worldwide in 2021 and 22.

There were significant problems with the audio, making the two series quite tricky to edit. Firstly, much of it was recorded remotely because of COVID, and secondly some recordings were made on location in uncontrolled environments so there were all sorts of background noise problems, such as air con units, refrigerators, traffic sounds and people interrupting. As well as carefully removing all of these distractions, I also took out every um and ahh and edited the content for clarity.

After fixing the recordings, I scripted intros, which were recorded by the presenters. I mixed those intros with clips and music to create the opening sequence of each episode. I then added the sponsor's messages and the closing credits to create complete, polished podcasts.

This was not a job for an inexperienced editor. Podcast listeners are a discerning bunch of people. They tend to be higher earners, they tend to be highly educated, and they tend to be sophisticated individuals. If your audio is of poor quality, they will switch to a more professional sounding show.
