I was a Team Leader, PHP Programmer and consultant at the same time.

I joined the project when it was already working and written in PHP 5.6 and Laravel 4. The app was growing very fast but the code was old as there were a lot of business pivots meantime. The code was unstable and hard to change where traffic was huge and stockholders also had their expectations.

Solution:

✓ I introduced the idea of writing unit tests to stabilize the codebase and make it less fragile; ✓ I was responsible for updating PHP to version 7 and Laravel to version 5+; ✓ I helped to hire a new team; ✓ I facilitated an Event Storming workshop to help stakeholders decide what should be their next step; ✓ I introduced Blackfire.io as a tool to help optimize the app and fix performance issues;
