Partnership register update (financial services industry)
Project Overview: In this project, I led a strategic initiative to review, renew, and update a key department's partnership register. The goal was to revitalize dormant partnerships, establish new connections, and ensure that the register was accurate and up-to-date. The project required a blend of project management skills, stakeholder engagement, and meticulous documentation management, all delivered with a focus on agility and flexibility to accommodate the evolving needs of the business. Key Challenges:
Re-engaging dormant partners while maintaining healthy relationships with existing stakeholders.
Navigating complex negotiations for renewed agreements with partners, ensuring alignment with department goals.
Maintaining transparency and accountability in communications and documentation throughout the process.
Project Management Approach: To effectively execute this project, I employed agile project management techniques alongside traditional methodologies. I broke the project into manageable work packages and delivered the work in sprints. We held regular retrospectives to identify challenges, adapt our strategy, and adjust our approach based on stakeholder feedback.
Planning: I led the creation of the project plan, mapping out the scope, milestones, and key deliverables. My team and I identified critical stakeholders and mapped out the engagement strategy for both existing and potential partners.
Execution: I directed the project team to actively engage with dormant partners, organize contract renewals, and negotiate new agreements. Regular stand-ups ensured the team remained focused on the highest-priority tasks.
Closure: The project culminated in the successful handover of an updated partnership register to the department head, fully documenting partner information and agreement terms. The new register served as a living document for ongoing and future partnerships.
Results:
Completed on-time and within scope, with the updated register being delivered to key stakeholders.
A significant improvement in partner engagement with several dormant partnerships reactivated.
Streamlined reporting, communication, and documentation protocols, resulting in increased efficiency for the department.
Comprehensive documentation and signed agreements were all properly archived for future reference and auditing purposes.
