Streamlining the inventory management system and in-store customer experience for Canada’s largest dress rental business - The Fitzroy ✨

This system automates key processes, gives full inventory visibility, enhances the customer booking experience, and provides robust data analytics to inform business decisions.

The Challenge 🛑

Fitzroy has established itself as a thriving dress rental business, catering to customers seeking high-quality attire for special occasions. The company's current digital ecosystem consists of two main components:
Manual data entry between systems:
1.     Shopify: Serves as the primary e-commerce platform and storefront, handling customer interactions and online transactions.
2.     Book That App (BTA): Functions as the order processing and inventory tracking system, managing bookings and availability.
While these off-the-shelf solutions have supported Fitzroy's growth, the company has outgrown its generic capabilities. Specific pain points include:
Manual data entry systems
Lack of automated shipping and lead time calculation
Inefficient inventory status tracking
Limited reporting and analytics capabilities
Inability to easily manage complex booking scenarios

What We Built! 🚀

As Fitzroy is growing fast and looking to expand into other provinces in Canada they needed a custom robust solution.
Fully custom Shopify application that works seamlessly with Fitzroy’s Shopify storefront to handle bookings and rental returns.
Mobile application to track the dresses at each stage of its journey (cleaning, repairing, returned, shipped, etc)
Quality assurance measurement and tracking of dresses throughout its entire dress rental journey
Backend staff can prepare shipments and print labels seamlessly by syncing the Shopify orders into the booking application
Comprehensive and custom report generation to have a complete picture of orders, dress condition, and many more!

Results

The implementation of the custom digital solution for Fitzroy's dress rental business produced measurable improvements across key performance indicators over the first 3 months of deployment.
Operational Efficiency
Order processing time decreased by 68%, from an average of 12 minutes to 3.8 minutes per order
Data entry errors reduced by 94%, from approximately 15 errors per 100 orders to less than 1
Staff time spent on manual data entry reduced by 27 hours per week, allowing reallocation to customer service
Shipping label generation time decreased from 4 minutes to 10 seconds per order
