EGO: a 90s anime opening (Concept)

The anime opening I always wanted as a kid, for a show that doesn't exist.

EGO is a concept piece, not client work. GOLD, PEARL and the show are made up. Two rivals who are too proud to quit each other, cut to every beat of a song called EGO.

No animation studio and no crew. Each character got a model sheet first, so GOLD and PEARL look like the same two people in every shot. The scenes are generated stills. The silhouettes, color panels, mirror shots and title hits are motion graphics made in code.

Ten short generated clips cover the moments that need real movement, like the spin and the kick. They play at 12 drawings a second, the way 90s TV anime did. Every cut lands on a beat.

The phone version isn't a crop of the wide one. The two-person shots are stacked, GOLD on top and PEARL below, split by a magenta line, so both of them stay in frame the whole way through.
