With two rounds of developmental editing, I helped Jenny Roman smooth out the plot points and subplots in this equestrian romance. Working together, we changed the story arc to strengthen the story as a whole.
I was really struggling with the manuscript before Joyce looked at it. I knew it wasn’t right, but I couldn’t work out what was wrong. Joyce gave me a sensible framework to use to when considering the plot retrospectively – as a result, I was able to see the story arc more clearly and use her suggestions to revise the draft and improve the story.
