BJA: STOP School Violence Grant

The Our Voices App Project, funded through the BJA STOP School Violence Program, addresses student safety concerns while traveling to and from school in Cleveland. High-profile incidents of abduction, violence, and crime have heightened fears among students and families, with 49% of parents citing safety as a major concern. Nearly 8,700 K-8th grade students walk to school daily, navigating areas with high crime rates, environmental hazards, and limited protective resources. The project aims to enhance student safety through technology and community collaboration.
