Overview

Under 5 ft 7 is a direct-to-consumer apparel brand creating tailor-free, frame-flattering fits exclusively for men 5'7" and under. It offers essential clothing like denims, chinos, and shirts, all designed with proportional scaling to fit perfectly off the rack.

Goal

The primary goal is to redefine fashion standards for shorter men by offering high-quality, perfectly fitted clothing. This eliminates the need for costly and time-consuming tailoring, instantly boosting customer confidence and style.

Challenges

The core challenge is the retail industry’s reliance on standardized sizing (for men 5'10"+). This resulted in poor fit for shorter men due to:
Excessive Length: Long inseams, sleeves, and torsos leading to bagginess.
Disproportionate Features: Over-scaled collars and pockets that overwhelm a smaller frame.
Mandatory Tailoring: The necessity of professional alteration for almost every garment.

Solutions/Outcome

Solutions Implemented: The project centered on creating a proprietary, proportionally scaled size chart. This involved:
Implementing shorter inseams (25" and 27") with corrected rise and taper.
Redesigning top wear with shorter sleeves and refined shoulder seams.
Adjusting scaled details (smaller collars, cuffs) to flatter the smaller frame.
Outcome and Business Benefit: By delivering on the promise of "tailor-free fits," the brand successfully captured a highly underserved niche market. This specialized fit leads directly to high customer satisfaction, strong loyalty, and repeat purchases, cementing Under 5 ft 7 as the authority brand for its target demographic.
