🎧 Sound Design Study — Caitlyn’s Hextech Rifle [Arcane: League of Legends] As a personal practice, my goal was to achieve a weapon sound that feels powerful and modern, with electronic and liquid/organic elements, starting from real recorded rifle shots as the main source material. To build a rich and lively texture, I ended up using 12 layers in total — carefully shaped to keep the sound detailed, dynamic, and full of movement. Two key takeaway from this exercise: 1) How drastically you can transform a sound using just a Frequency Shifter or even a simple stock filter plugin. Small tools, huge impact. (I abused the plugin "Freak" and "Flair" by Native Instrument) 2) How can a slight strumming between samples could create an infinite amount of expressivity in an explosion If you’re into sound design for weapons, games, or cinematic SFX, I’d love to connect and exchange ideas.
