Listicle: 17 Things About Adopting a Romanian Rescue Dog
The Romanian street dog crisis is a serious issue. It’s primarily due to abandoned dogs who can still reproduce. One female dog and her offspring can have 67,000 pups in six years if they’re not fixed. It’s an epidemic. Thankfully, many charities are working on spaying/neutering street dogs to release, naturally reducing the street dog population. There are also charities taking dogs from kill shelters to happy lives in Europe. That’s why Romanian rescue dogs are growing in popularity in recent years, especially in the UK. These dogs (often called Rommies) have been through things we can’t even imagine, which you need to seriously consider before adopting. You need to do lots of research before you commit.

Whether that's talking about rescuing death row dogs from abroad, little-known health conditions, or shining a light on abuse, you can trust me to write empathically about it.
I also know how much the internet likes a good listicle, so I chose this format for my informative article inspired by my rescue pup, Cassi.
So, what was my process?
🟥 I wrote out the things I really wanted people to know, and I turned them into headers before filling them in with content.
🟧 I researched aspects I was unsure of, including the terrifying statistic about the mother and pups.
🟨 I came back to the article a day later and copy-edited it. I took a final look over it before publishing it. My preferred process is to write an article over a couple of days and edit it a couple of days later. I've noticed how much easier it is to spot flaws when my brain is fresh!
🟩 I went through 355,395 photographs of Cassi to find my favourites. I think finding a stock photo for an abstract concept is easier.
🟦 A few people reached out to me to chat and ask for Rommie advice. It's great knowing that people who read my article felt comfortable talking to me about their experiences and took away some knowledge from my post.
