Caravaggio, Light and Shadow: Short Biopic

Concept Project / Spec Film
Created: August 2026
A 51-second AI-generated cinematic concept film inspired by Caravaggio’s chiaroscuro.

Overview

A 51-second cinematic tribute exploring Caravaggio’s dramatic chiaroscuro aesthetic. The project connects key moments of his life through sequential AI-generated shots, keeping lighting and painterly textures consistent throughout.

Production Notes

Visual Development & Shot Design: Developed in Magnific Spaces through a node-based workflow. Custom prompts and reference nodes established the visual language, character progression, and chiaroscuro lighting. Image-generation nodes, including GPT Image 2.0, created first-frame compositions that were then connected to dedicated video-generation nodes for each shot.
Video Generation: Seedance 2.0 was the primary tool for generating the film’s video sequences. Kling 3.0 was used selectively as an alternative during shot iteration. This first-frame workflow helped maintain visual continuity across the progression from youth to adulthood.
Soundtrack, Edit & Finishing: The original score, “Gilded Decay”, was generated in Suno from a custom prompt informed by period music and the film’s historical atmosphere. The final piece was assembled in CapCut, with music-synced cuts, fade-ins and fade-outs, filters, film grain, and soundtrack volume balancing.
