1. ABOUT THE PROJECT Most blockchain and Web3 projects rely on highly technical visuals and diagrams. For Exploring MycoFi, the goal was different. The book explores the relationship between mycelial networks and decentralized systems, using fungi as a framework for thinking about more adaptable and sustainable Web3 economies. Working closely with the Creative Director, I was responsible for designing the book cover and creating a series of illustrations that helped connect these ideas through a more approachable visual language. 2.BEHIND THE PROCESS The challenge was finding the balance between nature and technology. The Creative Director established the overall visual direction, while I translated those ideas into illustrations and compositions that felt organic, interconnected, and easy to understand. Throughout the project, we explored how patterns found in fungal networks could visually represent concepts such as decentralization, public goods, and blockchain systems without relying on typical Web3 aesthetics.
3. THE RESULT The final outcome included a book cover and a collection of interior illustrations that worked together as a cohesive visual system. Instead of using familiar crypto-inspired visuals, the artwork drew from natural structures and mycelial growth patterns, giving the book a distinct identity while reinforcing its core ideas. The result was a visual system that made complex concepts more approachable while reinforcing the book's core ideas.
