I designed and built the entire ecosystem for an energy management and carbon accounting platform from the ground up. This included full-stack development, infrastructure setup, and advanced analytics solutions. Key achievements include:

Case Study: Building a Carbon Accounting & Energy Management Platform from the Ground Up

We designed and developed a fully customised Carbon Accounting & Energy Management platform from scratch. The project began with a clear mission: to empower businesses to make data-driven decisions in real-time to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions while streamlining reporting and compliance.
Full-Stack Development & Infrastructure Setup: We designed and developed the entire platform ecosystem, handling everything from frontend interfaces to backend logic and cloud-based infrastructure. To support scalability, we implemented a VPS architecture using Docker containers, database replicas, and automated backups. This ensured high availability, robust fault tolerance, and low latency performance for real-time energy data processing.
Custom-Built vs Off-the-Shelf: Instead of relying on generic third-party tools, the client wanted a custom solution. We developed a tailored platform that replaced off-the-shelf solutions. This shift improved system efficiency and lowered operational costs, giving the client full control over customisation, security, and future enhancements.
IoT Integration for Real-Time Monitoring: We selected and integrated reliable IoT sensors across the client’s energy systems to collect real-time data on consumption and equipment performance. This integration not only enhanced fault detection and reduced downtime but also increased reliability.
Advanced-Data Analytics & ETL Pipelines: We implemented ETL pipelines to transition from a NoSQL architecture to a columnar database optimised for analytical queries. This resulted in an 80% improvement in query performance. Custom GHG dashboards were also built to visualise emissions in compliance with ISO standards, allowing the client to track Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions with ease.
DevOps & Agile Methodology: To ensure continuous delivery and system stability, we integrated DevOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and system monitoring. Agile workflows kept the team on track, enabled rapid iteration, and ensured on-time delivery within just six weeks.
