🧭 Project Overview

I partnered with another consultancy and the CIO of a top-tier Australian construction company to lead development of an enterprise-grade data integration platform. The initiative automated manual data entry, unified disconnected systems and streamlined reporting across a complex portfolio of construction projects, combining Azure with Microsoft 365 and Power Platform.

🎯 Project Objectives

Eliminate error-prone, spreadsheet-based processes through automated data capture and integrations. Build a single source of truth across Project Controls, HSEQ, Finance and Site Operations, enable real-time reporting, and maximise the client's existing Microsoft Cloud investment to minimise licensing costs.

🧩 Key Deliverables

A scalable Azure SQL Database as the core project data hub, with Azure Logic Apps and Functions automating data flows across line-of-business systems. Azure API Management securely exposing data services, custom Power Apps and SharePoint interfaces for business users, and robust logging, error handling and role-based access throughout.

🔧 Technical & Delivery Approach

Azure-native architecture using serverless components, designed for scalability and performance. Delivered in incremental phases starting with project status tracking and site performance, working closely with IT, operations and finance, with security and auditability aligned to ISO and internal ICT standards.

🚀 Key Results

Reduced manual data entry effort by over 70% and integrated more than 5 legacy systems into a single, queryable platform. Delivered early insights into project performance via Power BI dashboards, empowered non-technical teams to act on real-time data, and positioned the CIO to scale data-led decision making across all construction programs.
