To address this issue, Law Gig was founded as an online platform that connects clients with experienced pre-screened remote legal professionals, including lawyers, paralegals, and other support staff with strong technical and communication skills.
These legal professionals are available to work in any time zone, making the platform accessible to clients all over the world.
LawGig Vision
The goal of Law Gig is to provide clients with a cost-effective and convenient way to access legal services, while also providing legal professionals with a flexible and secure platform to offer their services.
The platform aims to streamline the process of finding and hiring legal professionals, while also providing a secure platform for communication, document sharing, and payment.
My role
As a UX designer on the Law Gig project, my role was to design a user-friendly and intuitive website that meets the needs of both legal professionals and clients.
Through a deep analysis of competitors and iterative design, I worked to create a platform that is easy to use, secure, and meets the unique needs of the Australian legal industry.
Pain points of Law firms
Staffing Challenges: Law firms often face staffing challenges, such as recruiting and retaining top legal talent, and managing workload fluctuations. This can lead to increased costs and decreased productivity.
Administrative Burden: Law firms also face administrative burdens, such as managing finances, tracking billable hours, and ensuring compliance with legal regulations. This can be time-consuming and detract from the time legal professionals can spend on client work.
Limited Geographic Reach: Traditional law firms are often limited in their geographic reach and may struggle to serve clients outside of their immediate geographic region.
The problems faced by legal freelance candidates and law firms in finding each other include time-consuming searches, lack of transparency, and uncertainty around the quality of the candidate.
Pain points of Freelance professionals
Finding Clients: Freelance legal professionals often face challenges in finding new clients and building a steady stream of work. This can lead to income instability and uncertainty.
Professional Isolation: Freelance legal professionals may also experience professional isolation and lack the support and camaraderie that comes with working in a traditional office environment.
Law Gig seeks to address these pain points for both law firms and freelance professionals by providing a centralized platform that connects clients with pre-screened, qualified legal professionals who have strong technical and communication skills.

Candidates are required to set up a comprehensive profile on LawGig that includes personal details, qualifications, and industries they have worked in.
This allows potential clients to view the profiles of skilled legal professionals and select the bestcandidate for their specific needs.
The detailed profiles also provide valuable information for clients, such as experience levels, areas of expertise, and the ability to work remotely, helping them to make informeddecisions when selecting a freelance legal professional.
As a legal freelance candidate sets up their profile on LawGig, they are provided with a carefully curated selection of law firms that match their qualifications and experience.
This helps candidates avoid the hassle of having to search for appropriate job opportunities and enables them to focus on their skills and expertise.
Law firms benefit from this feature by gaining access to a pool of pre-screened and qualified candidates who are best suited for their specific legal needs. By streamlining the process of job matching,

My learnings
This is an old project I did some years ago. My biggest learning from this project was I had to unlearn a lot things. Blindly following some design process doesn’t matter. What matters is to devise a solution that is relevant by any means necessary.
Designing a minimal and easy to use website is much harder to build. Just because we understood the motivations and pain points of Law firms and candidates we were able to come up with a relevant design.
