This audit laid the foundation for enhancing the accessibility of crailsheim.de, ensuring that users of all abilities can effectively navigate and interact with the site.

Based on the BITV-Test/EN 301 549 standards, which are essential benchmarks in Germany for web accessibility compliance, the audit assessed 98 distinct criteria, covering key accessibility areas such as screen reader compatibility, mobile usability, contrast checks, and keyboard navigation.

Using specialized tools such as the NVDA screen reader, a contrast checker, and DOM manipulation tools, the most significant sections of the website were tested. For each test step, we determined its relevance to the website and documented errors or non-compliant elements, including visual screenshots and actionable recommendations. Only applicable criteria were scored, ensuring a focused and effective review.
