Accessibility Work at Freckle

Bruno Gregório

When I joined the Freckle project, the goal was clear: make learning accessible to every kid, whether they’re just starting kindergarten or getting ready to don a cap and gown. Freckle was already a fantastic resource, packed with interactive lessons kids loved. But we knew we could do more.
So, I rolled up my sleeves and dove into the world of accessibility. It was all about opening doors—sometimes literally, as we tweaked the platform to work seamlessly with screen readers and voice commands. We wanted every child to navigate lessons easily, whether using their fingers, a stylus, or just their voice.
It wasn’t just about meeting standards or ticking boxes. It was about watching kids’ faces light up when they realized that Freckle was made for them, too. That’s the kind of work that sticks with you—it’s why I love doing what I do.
