Bibliotouch is a novel experience allowing an interactive serendipitous exploration of library collections. Designed for large interactive public displays, it is underneath a Single-Page Application built with VueJS that seamlessly worked also on laptop and smartphones. Serendipitous exploration was supported by: a zoomable interface, large scale visualization, and advanced search capabilities.
This project was conducted as a research experiment by, the french national school of information and library sciences, anda startup specialized in building interactive public displays.
ResponsibilitiesInitial research of visualizations and interactions based on scientific literature
Development of the backend and the connection with existing library databases
Development of the frontend based on design created by the UI designer of the team
