Busy and vibrant, this illustration mirrors the density of a jungle, with a carefully crafted vignette guiding the viewer’s gaze toward Mowgli at the center. The choice of a playful font, reminiscent of children’s literature, adds a whimsical touch to the final piece. Executed in Photoshop, this creation captures the lively spirit of the jungle and the beloved character.
Originally painted in gouache and finalized in Photoshop in 2015 for a private fine art commission, this illustration embodies the visual contrast between modern technology and nature. Initially conceived as a standalone piece, it lacked space for text. To repurpose it for a non-fiction book cover on the separation of our digital age and natural environment, we created a fictitious scientist author and repositioned the robot figure to provide ample space for the title and author name.
A self-driven portfolio piece, this project aimed to seamlessly integrate Photoshop compositing and illustrative skills. The objective was to showcase the real world dominating the image, with an illustrative wonderland subtly emerging from a door. After experimentation, a simplified paper-cutout illustration style was chosen for readability in smaller spaces. The handwritten Google font, adorned with added flourishes, conveys the fantastical nature of the story. All components were meticulously crafted in Photoshop.
Another passion project, Dracula, delves into type-specific design work. Drawing inspiration from the classic story’s sense of unease and fear, I intentionally minimized breathing room in the composition to evoke claustrophobia and discomfort. Additionally, the incorporation of blood found its subtle place in the vertical line of the ‘A’. Executed in Photoshop, this project reflects creative exploration and thematic choices.
