RESIDUE (Melbourne) is an interactive installation that turns Melbourne's cityscape into a living, dissolving archive. Video of Melbourne's parks, streets, and redevelopment sites is processed through a custom TouchDesigner pipeline that extracts depth and rebuilds the footage as fields of 3D particles. The particles hold the shape and colour of each place, but they drift, pulled by ambient sound and the movement of anyone standing in the room. There's no interface. The audience doesn't operate the work, they inhabit it, and their presence becomes the instrument that shapes it. RESIDUE was shown as a work-in-development at ACMI's Experimental Forum in May 2026, selected through open submission and later featured on ACMI's website and social channels. It's less an installation than a live argument about memory: that a city remembers and forgets itself at exactly the same rate.
