Table tennis, also known as ping pong, is a popular indoor sport
played between two or four players. It is characterized by players
using small rackets to hit a lightweight ball back and forth across
a table divided by a net.
The objective of the game is to score points by striking the ball in
a way that it cannot be returned by the opponent. Players must hit
the ball over the net and ensure that it bounces once on their
opponent's side of the table while following specific rules and
regulations.
Table tennis can be played in various formats, including singles
(one player against another) or doubles (two players on each
side). Matches are typically played in a best-of-five or best-of-
seven games format, with each game played up to 11 points
(unless both players reach 10 points, in which case the game
continues until one player gains a two-point lead).
Table tennis requires quick reflexes, agility, hand-eye
coordination, and strategic thinking. It is known for its fast-paced
nature, with players often engaging in rapid exchanges of shots.
The sport is played at both recreational and competitive levels,
and it is an Olympic sport that has gained popularity worldwide.
