Building a B2B Food Waste Solution in Finland

Zipli is a Finland based B2B food waste solution, co-funded by the EU. It's a platform designed to rescue surplus food at scale. What app mainly does is automate the a lot of tasks done by gov/social workers at Finnish food terminals like Stadin Safka.
It was a delight working on this project. I launched a fast-paced MVP for real-world testing in the initial weeks with a very small team . And now its in production used by real people. An App (IOS/Android) that allows kitchen workers to log surplus food and also a terminal dashboard used by social workers to report temperature, check recipients and match with them (according to dietary restrictions).
The core idea behind the technologies developed here was to simplify the reduction of food waste by connecting donors—both large and small—with recipients who can put surplus food to proper use. In this way, excess food ends up on plates meeting nutritional needs instead of in landfills.
We worked on developing a web app to help recipents to see food being donated and make a request. And on the other end a proper dashboard for food chains and restaurant to keep track of their donations, the impact they make (carbon foot print), number of families served and other insights.
Check zipli out. Download App on Android on IOS (store publishing under review).
