Project Overview
This project showcases a cinematic vertical edit designed for Reels/Shorts, blending atmospheric rain visuals, soft glowing text, and smooth emotional pacing. The goal was simple: create a short-form video that feels premium, hooks instantly, and drives high retention using subtle motion, minimal cuts, and immersive sound design.
🔥 Creative Challenge
Short-form content is oversaturated. Most videos fight for attention with loud edits, rapid cuts, and aggressive visuals.
This project required the opposite:
A calm, moody, cinematic micro-story that holds attention using emotion instead of chaos.
Key challenges:
Make a silent typography moment feel alive
Maintain viewer retention without fast pacing
Create a recognizable “editor signature” aesthetic
Balance subtle motion with clean minimalism
Use rain + vignette + glow without overpowering the text
🎨 My Editing Approach
1. Cinematic Atmosphere (Rain + Depth)
Added layered rain textures for movement
Used soft-focus overlays to create depth
Applied warm/cool dual-tone lighting for a filmic feel
2. Premium Typography Design

Gentle parallax to avoid static frames
Smooth transitions that guide the viewer line-by-line
4. Sound Design
Subtle ambience to match the rain aesthetic
Low-frequency hum for emotional weight
Soft risers synced with text appearance
