Fantalytica: A Comprehensive Fantasy Hockey Analytics Platform

As a software engineer and web developer, I spearheaded the development of Fantalytica, a comprehensive fantasy hockey analytics platform designed to provide in-depth analysis and insights for users. This project encompassed both frontend and backend development, demanding a broad range of technical skills and a deep understanding of user experience.

I employed Wix Editor to build an interactive and user-friendly frontend, crafting a web application that not only looked good but was also robust in functionality. Utilizing Wix Dev Mode, I wrote custom JavaScript code to enable key features, such as:

- Secure member accounts

- Efficient subscription payment processing

- Easy-to-use contact form

- Dynamic table with user-friendly search, sort, and filter options

- Player comparison cards integrated directly into the table for seamless user experience

But the real powerhouse of Fantalytica was the advanced analytics engine I developed on the backend, using a microservice architecture on Google Cloud Platform. Predominantly coded in .NET Core, this engine was responsible for:

- Aggregating hundreds of thousands of NHL prospect stats on a nightly basis, ensuring users had the most up-to-date data at their fingertips

- Providing daily updates to individual player stats and insights, offering valuable inputs for users to make informed decisions

- Integrating with 3rd party APIs like Elite Prospects API for comprehensive data gathering

- Aggregating all this data into Wix Collections for seamless display on the web application

This project underscored my abilities to work across the stack, integrating various technologies to create a single, cohesive platform. With my strong technical acumen and keen understanding of user-centric design, I was able to build a platform that not only processed complex data but also presented it in a way that was accessible and valuable to the end-user.
