Foster Dog Operations Portal

A rescue's foster and boarding program needs a practical way to manage dog records, locations, care updates, and follow-up work. Staff and volunteers need different levels of access.

I developed an operations portal with separate admin and volunteer views. Staff can track dogs, foster locations, boarding stays, medical follow-ups, and urgent reports from one dashboard. Volunteers get a mobile-friendly interface for checking dogs in and out, logging walks, and sending care notes.

I handled requirements, design, development, testing, and deployment. The build includes CSV/Excel imports with validation and review, internal notes, audit history, secure sign-in, and automated tests.

The application uses Next.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL. Access controls separate staff administration from volunteer activities.

The portal brings dog, foster, boarding, and care records into one application, with a simpler view for volunteer tasks and a broader operational view for staff.
