Project Spotlight - Script Feedback, Director & Playwright

Jordan Zauha

Jordan Zauha

As a member of Project Spotlight, I had the opportunity to fulfill several roles across multiple projects, namely as a Script Feedback Expert (aka Script Doctor), Playwright, and Stage Director.

Script Feedback Expert

Projects: An Apology by Will Sippel, As It's Written by Caroline Hull

Prior to direction responsibilities for the ten-minute play An Apology by Will Sippel and the full length production As It's Written by Caroline Hull, I evaluated each script line-by-line to garner feedback for the playwright which included character examination, plot guidance, flow evaluation, word choice, and typographical errors. I then met with each playwright to review all callouts to discuss motivations for the suggested edits.
All final edits, approved or rejected, were determined by the playwrights themselves.

Playwright

Stage Director

Projects: An Apology by Will Sippel, As It's Written by Caroline Hull

I directed An Apology by Will Sippel as part of the Fall 2021 10-Minute Play Competition. The production won three out of four awards for the evening including Best Actor, Best Playwright, and Best Director.
Subsequently, I was invited to direct the full length play production for UCF Celebrates the Arts at the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts. Committed by Caroline Hull was presented to a sold out audience at the 294-seat Alexis & Jim Pugh Theater on April 16, 2022.
The show was restaged at Penguin Point Productions later that fall.
