Tone Stith & Maeta Sense There’s 'Something In The Water'

Over the years, Tone Stith has been building up his resume by penning chart-topping hits for the likes of Chris Brown. Now Stith is emerging into his own stardom as a solo artist and showcasing his capabilities as a multi-faceted entertainer. Earlier this year, he blessed his fans with the highly-anticipated EP FWM, and just nearly four months later, he’s planning to release the continuation of that project, titled Still FWM. Tone Stith introduces the project with the lead single “Something In The Water,” which features a collaboration from Maeta that embodies the essence of an early 2000’s R&B jam.

Stith demonstrates his range as he mourns a relationship that is now lost on the Kenneth Paige production. Throughout the piano-laden track that includes a sample of Carl Thomas' "I Wish," Tone exposes his prideful side, admitting that “Still hurts but I won’t let show / More shots and I just might call,” indicating he might need a little bit of liquid courage to disclose his true feelings. However, Stith makes it clear that he has some self-respect and knows his true worth, “And a n***a ain’t hatin’ / But you’ll never replace me,” indicating that he’s irreplaceable. Meanwhile, Maeta shares that she was encouraged by her peers to entertain the idea of a rebound. And although it may have seemed like a good idea, she admits that her heart still resides elsewhere.
