For this article, I broke down the latest climate deal from the International Maritime Organization (IMO), exploring what was agreed and what wasn’t when it comes to cutting emissions from global shipping. I unpacked the different measures under discussion, like carbon levies and emissions targets, and explained how power dynamics between countries shaped a deal that many say falls short.
The goal was to make a highly technical issue easy to understand for an audience with little to no prior knowledge of the issues at hand.
