EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Clean Water for Healthy Living (CAHL) is a non-profit organization that focuses on providing clean drinking water to rural communities in Africa. Over the past 5 years, we have improved access to safe water for over 10,000 people across 5 regions, reducing water borne illnesses and promoting healthy living in Africa.
We are requesting $500,000 from the World Health Organization (WHO) to expand our operation, targeting additional 15,000 people for the next two years in Africa. This project includes the construction of wells, installation of water purification systems, and educational campaign on importance of water treatment, water borne diseases and prevention. With this funding, we will ensure that we fulfill our duty to more communities which has not benefitted from our organization due to limited funds and resources. Clean water is essential for healthy living.
ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND
Clean Water for Healthy Living (CAHL) was founded in 2018 with a mission of improving access to safe water to rural communities in Africa. Our organization was able to grow to this point thanks to not only the founder but to those who volunteered to put the lives and health of others first. Our team is made up of water experts, engineers, specialists, and educators consistently giving their best.
Our Achievement in the Past 5 Years:
• We have successfully built 30 clean water wells in 5 rural regions in Africa.
• We have installed 50 water purification systems.
• We have made water available and accessible to over 10,000 people.
• We educated the local communities on the importance water treatment and how to prevent water borne diseases.
We also received recognition from the local governments for our innovative community-based water management system.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Accessibility to clean water remains one of the significant problem faced in rural communities in Africa. This has impacted the life of millions of people causing greater health, economic and social challenges.
The importance of clean water is underrated leading to increased cases of water borne diseases such as diarrhea, cholera and typhoid, high child mortality rates and lost productivity.
WHO funding will help us combat this issue, reaching more communities that lack this necessity in living a healthy life.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Our Objective is to:
• Provide access to clean water for additional 15,000 people in rural communities for the next 2 years.
• Construct 20 new clean water wells and install 20 purification systems in high demand areas.
• Educate communities of the importance water hygiene and sustainable water management.
Our Activities includes:
• Site Surveys (Months 1-2): Identify high-priority regions and assess community needs through surveys and consultations with local leaders.
• Well Construction (Months 3-12): Collaborate with engineers and contractors to build 20 wells in the chosen locations.
• Installation of Purification Systems (Months 6-12): Install 20 water purification systems in areas with high water contamination.
• Education Campaign (Months 1-2): Organize a community outreach program that educates residents on water hygiene, management, and maintenance of water systems.
• Monitoring and Evaluation (Ongoing): Track water quality, system functionality, and community satisfaction through regular check-ins and evaluations.
Our Timeline:
• Year 1: Site surveys, well construction, and the beginning of the education campaign.
• Year 2: Complete well construction, install purification systems, continue education outreach, and continue monitoring and evaluation.

SUSTAINABLE PLAN
CWHL will ensure that this project benefits reaches regions struggling beyond the initial funding period. To achieve this, we will:
• Train local community members in the maintenance and repair of water systems, ensuring long-term functionality.
• Establish partnerships with local governments to monitor the ongoing needs of the water systems and provide support when necessary.
• Launch community-managed water committees, which will be responsible for overseeing the daily management of the water resources and resolving any issues that arise.
• Develop a fundraising strategy to secure additional funding from other sources, including private donors and corporate sponsors.
By doing this, we ensure that the water systems we install will continue to serve people for years to come.
CONCLUSION
Just as our name implies, Clean Water for Healthy Living will provide clean water that will promote healthy living to additional 15,000 people in rural communities in Africa. Our 100% success rate, combined with World Health Organization (WHO) funding, will ensure that we continually make positive and long-lasting impact. We humbly request $500,000 to fund this significant project that will change the life of many for good.
Thank you for the opportunity and considering our proposal. We look forward to collaborating with you.
