Transforming LinkedIn Presence for a Creative Industry Executive

Background

An executive in the creative industry approached me with a challenge: they were struggling to create consistent and impactful content on LinkedIn. Their goal was to establish themselves as a thought leader in the space, specifically targeting branding professionals, marketers, creative directors, and the C-Suite. Additionally, they wanted to grow their newsletter, expand their following within the industry, and potentially open doors to new job opportunities.

Initial Situation

Before working together, the client had difficulty maintaining consistency with their content creation and often found it challenging to come up with fresh ideas. They recognized the importance of being active on LinkedIn but were unsure how to effectively leverage the platform to achieve their goals.

Objectives

The main objectives were clear:
Networking: Engage with C-suite leaders and establish connections that could lead to potential opportunities.
Thought Leadership: Position the client as a leading voice in their industry.
Growth: Increase their LinkedIn following and drive interest in their newsletter.

Approach

To address these goals, I took over the client’s LinkedIn presence entirely. We started by sitting down together to define content pillars that aligned with their goals. Initially, I ghostwrote content that the client would then tweak to ensure it matched their voice and personality. Over time, I learned their style so well that I was able to write posts that required minimal input from them. In addition to writing, I also generated graphics and edited short-form videos to enhance the content’s impact.

Execution

The process was straightforward and collaborative. We regularly brainstormed content ideas, ensuring they aligned with the client’s objectives. The key was to maintain a consistent posting schedule, which helped build momentum and establish the client’s presence on LinkedIn. Throughout our work together, the client was very satisfied with the progress, and we encountered no major issues.

Results

The results were outstanding. The client’s LinkedIn impressions skyrocketed from less than 5,000 total impressions the previous year to over 570,000. Their follower count also grew from 1,600 to over 10,000. Even more impressive, they were able to sell over $40,000 worth of services without explicitly promoting any sales. Perhaps most importantly, five different CEOs reached out to the client directly, expressing interest in potential collaborations and even offering positions within their teams.

Reflection

This project has been a great success for both the client and me. We’ve been working together for less than a year, and I’m excited to see how we can continue to build on this foundation moving forward.
