Learned something this week while scoping a GoHighLevel job.
If a client wants to move an 800 number into HighLevel, the normal Port-In button won’t work. It only supports US local and mobile numbers.
Toll-free numbers go through HighLevel’s manual porting form instead, and you’ll need:
A signed LOA
A phone bill from the last 90 days
The sub-account’s Location ID
The agency’s relationship number
The part most people miss: the old carrier account has to stay active until the port is done. HighLevel’s LOA even says to keep service on for 10 days after the toll-free transfer is processed. Cancel early and the number can be lost.
So if your client says “we’re shutting down the old phone system next week,” that’s the moment to slow things down.
Anyone else ported a toll-free number into HighLevel? How long did yours take?
