Sellers running products across multiple marketplaces were using the same copy everywhere. The same title on Amazon, Etsy, eBay, and Shopify. The problem is each platform has its own search algorithm, its own character limits, and its own buyer behavior. Copy that works on Amazon gets buried on Etsy. A title that ranks on eBay looks spammy on Shopify.
My Approach
I wrote platform-specific product listings for Amazon, Etsy, eBay, and Shopify. Each listing was built from scratch for the platform it lived on.
Here's what that looked like across each marketplace:
Amazon: A9-optimized titles with primary keywords front-loaded. Five benefit-driven bullet points. Backend keywords filled with alternate spellings and long-tail phrases. Descriptions structured to convert browsers who made it past the bullets.
Etsy: Long-tail keyword titles matching how Etsy buyers actually search. All 13 tags filled with unique multi-word phrases. Descriptions focused on materials, sizing, use cases, and gift appeal. Category and attribute fields filled correctly so Etsy's filters work in the seller's favor.
eBay: Cassini-friendly titles with the right keyword density. Detailed item specifics filled out completely, because eBay's search engine weighs these heavily. Descriptions that addressed condition, compatibility, and shipping expectations.
Shopify: Clean, scannable product descriptions written for a branded storefront. No keyword stuffing. Focused on storytelling, benefits, and building trust with first-time visitors who don't have marketplace reviews to rely on.
For every platform, I started with keyword research specific to that marketplace's search behavior.
The Result
Product listings optimized for four different e-commerce platforms, each one tailored to how that platform ranks and converts. One product, four different listings, each one built to win on its own turf.
