✨Fictional Context for the project✨
Recently the British Government has started exploring its historical mines to understand their past, as well as what their future might become. During these investigations, there was a disturbance at Magpie Mine, causing the Widows Curse to break free from its confines and begin spreading, with Magpie Mine as the epicentre.
As the curse spreads, people begin to leave and amenities and facilities begin to close down, following the same fate as the mine itself. Inspired and curious by the seemingly bizarre rumours of the events happening in the UK, Wes Anderson travels to Derbyshire to research it for a potential cinematic opportunity.
Whilst there though, he becomes infatuated with the site and overtaken by the curse itself after venturing into the epicentre of it all. He ultimately decides that this is the place where he, too, wishes to be buried and finds a desire to remain close to it until that day. Wes Anderson subsequently commissions the development of the site to become the final resting ground for him and his legacy.
