I've been a photographer for almost 5 years now and haven't been able to resist taking pictures since then.
It has drastically changed me.
I started off by taking pictures of flowers and plants. It allowed me to acknowledge and worship nature. To look at it how I do today. To find solace in it as I do today.
It allowed me to explore not just the locations but the their inhabitants too.
Allowed me to meet them, get to know their stories, their life experiences. To live vicariously through them, for a moment.
To become more empathetic.
I've often struggled to stay in the moment. To seize the moment. But the times when I didn't struggle were the times in which the moment seized me.
Throughout my visit in Jammu and Amritsar, I constantly tried to stay present and embrace the beauty of mountains, cultures, temples etc.
My pursuit for presence was indeed forced and didn't feel real. But I couldn't give up, for the beauty is subjective and it has to be felt to be shared. Otherwise my trip would have been an utter failure.
In the times of such profound dilemma, I often turn to Sigur Rós. I kept listening to him on my way up to Vaishno Devi Temple. It provided me a soothing experience and helped me to consume the profound beauty of this place.
Therefore, I am obliged to use his song for my video.
