Achieving Character Consistency in AI Videos

You spend hours tweaking prompts only to end up with characters that look similar but not quite right. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵: Veo3 wasn’t designed to think in terms of continuity. It generates what you ask for in the moment, unless you guide it like a system. When I work with clients, I use a 3-step process to keep characters consistent: 1. 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆: Define detailed traits upfront: hairstyle, clothing style, accessories, posture. Treat this as your “character blueprint.” 2. 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗮𝘁, 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁: Copy and paste those exact identifiers into every new scene. Changing “short hair” to “cropped hair” might sound small, but it confuses the model. 3. 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘀: Add recurring props, backgrounds, or colors that signal to the AI “this is the same person.” Here’s what happens when you follow this: 👉 Your characters stay consistent 👉 Your scenes flow naturally 👉 Your audience feels the story instead of being distracted by continuity errors 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿.
